Cocktail Party Bhutan Fundraiser
On the 18th August 2012, we held such a successful cocktail party fundraiser for Bhutan at CMI Toyota on West Terrace in Adelaide.
We raised $31,000 and are in the process of purchasing two Stryker surgical kits, which Suzanne Caragianis and Dr Philip Griffin will take to Bhutan in February 2013. Thank you to all of you who attended on the night. Wow! What a night it was, what a party!
A red carpet entrance into the stunning city venue of CMI Toyota, which had been amazingly transformed from a new car showroom to a happening party place with the help of Pro Show. It was alive with an African dance troupe welcoming show and the sounds of “The Holeproofs” booming on the dance floor. All of the guests suddenly realised that this wasn’t just any old cocktail party; this was the place to be this Saturday night!
People were queuing to get a glimpse of their future from the Tarot card and palm readers, and were overwhelmed by a choice of 32 items to bid on in the silent auction. As they munched on delicious canapés from Mad About Food and drank amazing wine donated by Dutschke Winery and Bird in Hand, or soft drink and beer donated from the Strathmore and The Rez Hotels.
Thank you also to the other major sponsors, Bartons Accountancy firm and ProShow Lighting who provided the stage, sound and lighting. Thank you to all the other dozens of contributors who donated their time and skills on the night or goods for the auction.
The event was an outstanding success and we are very grateful for your support and contributions to our mission of raising money for medical equipment for Bhutan.
